The 2016 fiscal year will have a slightly lower property tax millage for taxpayers in Harmar Township in the Allegheny Valley. The township’s millage rate for 2016 will be 3.45 mills, down slightly from the 3.7 mills that have been levied since 2013 when rates were adjusted for the Countywide reassessment.
The certified taxable property value for 2016 is not yet available, but in 2015 taxable value in the Township was $376 million, a slight decrease from where it stood in 2014 ($377 million). In a July 2015 article the school district of which Harmar is a part (Allegheny Valley) indicated that there had been some commercial growth in the Township. The 2015 County assessment roll shows that the Township’s taxable value of $376 million is comprised of $148.8 million residential, $227.2 million commercial.
