Rideshare Company Gets Two Years

Absent changes to state legislation (proposals were made here and here) or the Public Utility Commission’s criteria for approving common carriers, ridesharing company Uber has been granted a two year experimental license by the Commission.  The license allows the company to operate anywhere in the state except Philadelphia (the City’s Parking Authority has control over cab regulations there).

According to the PUC’s experimental service application, the approval last for two years unless the company abandons the service or the Commission enacts amendments pertaining to the service.
