New Report: Examining Municipal Bankruptcy

What does U.S. and Pennsylvania law say about municipalities going bankrupt?  How often have municpal bankruptcies occur?  What type of power do bankruptcy court judges wield over local governments?

Our latest report “Chapter 9 Bankruptcy: What it Means for Pennsylvania’s Municipalities” examines these and other questions in order to provide answers on just what is meant by municipal bankruptcy and how it affects the day to day operations and long term legacy costs of cities and towns.  It can be accessed at https://www.alleghenyinstitute.org/administrator/components/com_reports/uploads/09-05.pdf
