Experiment Expiring

The cab-ridesharing battle of 2014 seems like such a long time ago, but before you know it the experimental licenses granted by the Public Utility Commission to Uber and Lyft are within less than a half of a year from expiring.

As our 2014 Brief noted, the PUC granted three experimental licenses that year in Allegheny County and those experimental licenses last for two year unless the service is vacated or there are changes made to PUC regulations.  If the General Assembly and the Governor approve of ridesharing legislation (one bill has passed the Senate but is in the House currently) that would certainly affect the status of ridesharing in the state.
