County Property Value up 1.5%

The certified property value for Allegheny County’s taxable parcels rose 1.5%, from $77.7 billion in 2017 to $78.9 billion in 2018.  The biggest percentage increases occurred in Marshall Township (8.8%) and Ohio Township (7.9%).  Year over year decreases were concentrated in the Mon Valley (Braddock, Braddock Hills, and Homestead in the range of 1.5% to 4%),

Close to a quarter of the taxable value in the County is in the City of Pittsburgh, which in 2018 had a certified value of $18.8 billion, an increase of 1.8% over 2017.

The County’s taxable total is a 70-30 split between residential and commercial property.  With another $21.4 billion from tax-exempt and public utility property the total value of all property in Allegheny County was $100.3 billion.  Since the certification of values in 2013 following the reassessment total value is up from $96.4 billion (4%).
